UNM Ph.D. student, APS teacher gifted prestigious award by President Biden

When Tara Palomares isn’t teaching math at Albuquerque's Sandia High School, she’s in a different classroom as a doctoral student in the Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education Program at The University of New Mexico. While she's well known locally in the teaching community, Palomares is now recognized nationally after winning a Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).
