EDA announces $504 million in funding to 12 designated tech hubs across America

The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced yesterday approximately $504 million in implementation grants to 12 Tech Hubs designees, including Elevate Quantum (EQ), the lead agency of a Colorado-New Mexico-based collaboration that seeks to solidify the region’s global leadership in quantum information technology (QIT).

UNM Music alumna achieves prestigious accolade in German vocal technique

Lauren Humble, who graduated from The University of New Mexico in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music Education with a vocal emphasis, has successfully completed an intensive three-year program at the CJD Schule Schlaffhorst-Andersen in Bad Nenndorf, Germany and now bears the title staatlich geprüfte Atem-, Sprech- und Stimmlehrerin (state-certified breath, speech, and voice teacher and therapist) utilizing the Schlaffhorst-Andersen method of breath, voice, and body work.

NSF announces $16 million investment in UNM-affiliated projects to build climate resilience

The National Science Foundation (NSF) today announced it will invest nearly $16 million in three research projects led or supported by The University of New Mexico. The grants are part of a $77.8 million NSF investment in projects that will build climate resilience capacity as part of the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR).
